During the summer of 2005, Pastor Allan felt called to include families of our
students in the recovery process. In January 2006 Pensacola Teen
Challenge held its first Family Recovery Weekend, and families
everywhere made their way to Pensacola to visit with their fathers,
husbands, and sons.
Family Recovery Weekend has been designed to bring families together
again. Since the onset of this hands-on ministry to the Teen
Challenge program, miracles have indeed happened within the family unit
of the enrolled student. Too often, the focus is centered
primarily on
the student, and family members feel lost, hopeless, or confused about
all that is taking place within their loved one's life.
By opening our campus to families for these recovery weekends, family
members are learning how to cope with drug addiction and the toll it
takes on everyone involved.

During Family Recovery Weekend, teaching sessions help train family members how to
help and assist students after they complete the program. Training family members will help increase accountability for the
student once he or she graduates, and will provide families a greater potential
for success as they each grow together in the recovery process.
Family Recovery Weekends
are typically held on the second FULL weekend of each month, except
October, which is held on the third weekend. There is no family weekend
in December due to holiday schedules. For more information concerning
this ministry, please contact our office.
Husbands-to-be and
wives-to-be must first be approved before attending any Family Recovery
Weekend. Fiancés (men) should call Pastors John and Alison Clanton,
Women's Center Supervisors for proper direction, and fiancées (women)
should call Carol Foschini, our Wives and Fiancées Group Leader for
proper direction.
